INTRODUCTION TO LIFESTYLE YOGA
CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Yoga: Classes are taught using a variety of styles depending on the teacher, with focus on both strength and flexibility, flowing movements and holding postures as well as developing a mind/body connection with breathing and concentration. Props such as cushions, bolsters, straps and blocks are provided for your use. Bring your own mat, or use one of ours. Suitable for all levels
Retro Yoga: This class is designed to cater for people over 50 and is a mix of Hatha, Restorative and Yin Yoga focusing on balance, strength, mobility and flexibility. Props such as cushions, bolsters, straps and blocks are provided for your use. There is a $5 charge for this class for both non-members and Lifestyle Health Club Redbank Plains members who may wish to attend. Suitable for all levels.
Pilates: A mat based class providing a fusion of body and mind through movement and breathing, strengthening and lengthening muscles with a focus on posture, core strength, balance, stability, mobility and spinal and pelvic alignment. Suitable for all levels.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Be prompt to class. If you are new to our studio, arrive around 5 minutes before class allowing time to check in at reception.
Shower, change and toilet facilities are available.
Wear comfortable, fitted (rather than loose or baggy) clothing that you can easily move in and that will soak up sweat. Personal hygiene is important, please wear deodorant. Avoid eating a large meal one to two hours before class as this can make you feel unwell.
Personal belongings are permitted in the Yoga Room and should be stored out of the way in the open lockers as you enter. Please ensure mobile phones are either turned off or switched to silent. Shoes should be removed and stored in the open lockers.
